Kate at 1... Kate at 2...
And Kate {the diva} just hours before her 3rd birthday! That's right-- our baby Kate is turning 3 TOMORROW!! We will celebrate with a family party poolside in St. George after Lisa's baby shower.

But in the meantime, Kate requested we make cupcakes with sprinkles for her friends at school. She helped with the entire baking process...

And voila! Chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with butter-cream frosting {and PLENTY of sprinkles!} for her birthday party at school. Sweet Kate, you are truly the light of our lives!
You make us laugh every single day.
You amaze us with your intelligence.
You have such a compassionate heart.
We love you.
And you love us back.
And that makes us the happiest people in the whole world!

P.S. I thought I'd ask Kate a few of her "favorites" to document her little life at age 3. So I got all her cute answers down and prepared to write them in her baby book. But mere hours later, while talking to Lisa on the phone, Kate presented an entirely different list of answers to the same questions! So either she changes her mind rapidly or she doesn't really have "favorites." But just for fun, here are a few of her answers (both sets).

Favorite Food:

Applesauce.... then 3 hours later... Macaroni and Cheese

Favorite Color:

Pink... then... Red

Favorite Movie:

Beauty and the Beast... then... Cars

Favorite book:

Go Dogs Go... then... she didn't have a favorite book.

Favorite thing to do with Mommy:

Bake cupcakes (same answer later... at least a few things are consistent in her life)

A few other things about Miss Kate:

• Loves Rihanna's song "Disturbia" and Beyonce's "All the Single Ladies" ~ Requests I sing them aloud in the car.
• Loves making cupcakes (i.e. filling up empty cupcake papers with sprinkles... then dumping them all over the floor)
• Loves Kramer (both the real dog and the little stuffed dog) She greets Kramer with a big hug every morning when he comes bounding on her bed.
• Enjoys talking on the phone... any phone... to anyone.
• Speaks very eloquently for a girl her age. We are amazed at her sentence structure and vocabulary.
• Is very loving to her dolls. Will make an excellent big sister... SOMEDAY (we hope!)
• Kate's teacher says she is compassionate to her friends, especially those friends who are in need of comfort.
• Loves drawing with sidewalk chalk on the one little patch of concrete in our backyard.
• Loves "reading" her scriptures and looking at pictures of Jesus. Is already developing quite a little testimony. It's beautiful.
• Says the most sincere nightly prayers... has brought me to tears on numerous occasions.
• Would rather eat 600 Gogurts in a day rather than anything else of substance.
