Red, White & Blue

Blake loves Daddy's games!

The 4th of July holiday has come and gone.  And that's crazy for me, because it's like the halfway point for summer break.  But not really since there's still a looooong hot road ahead of us. :)  But we are having a great summer so far and had a lovely weekend as a family.
On Thursday the 3rd Mike played in his softball game and then we raced down to Midlothian to meet up with our friends for fireworks.
Goofy faces in our festive family photo.  Also, I'm posting this because it'll be a great "before" picture for me someday (gotta get those baby lbs OFF!)
Friday morning we got up bright and early for the parade in downtown Arlington.
It was soooooo HOT!  Yay for the 4th in Texas!  But we had a wonderful time with each other.

Sweatin' to the marching bands. :)
After some lunch at home, we headed over to Bishop Harrington's house for a little swimming.  They were out of town so we had the place to ourselves.  Molly loved sunning herself on the pool raft.
Molly had about five wardrobe changes throughout the day.  Love all her festive gear!
After swimming, we needed good burgers.  So we went to Five Guys, stuffed ourselves, and then hit the sack by 9:00.  No sparklers or other fireworks for us this year.

On Saturday, Kevin, Leslie, Colin and Reagan came over and we snuck over to the Harrington's again for more swimming.  It was so fun lounging around the pool, drinking Coke Zeros and playing with the kids.
Then it was back to our house for burgers, potato salad, blueberry jello, banana pudding and homemade ice cream.  Yummmmm!
Then we stuck most of the kids in bed with a movie and laughed and chatted forever.  It was such a nice way to wrap up the weekend.
