Miss Molly Lynn ~ 6.5 months |
Welp, as usual, life is chugging along quicker than we can blog. Yes, that is my excuse. Anyway, I'm feeling ultra-productive today so I thought I'd document a little of what's going on with us lately.
As pictured above, Molly is starting to sit up semi-unassisted. She still isn't rolling over (that turkey!) and shows no signs of getting any teeth, but otherwise she seems to be on target and is such a healthy, beautiful girl. Mike told me yesterday he's really enjoying the baby phase with Molly, perhaps more so than with the other kids. Not sure why; because she's our last? Who knows. But her sweet demeanor is quite infectious and we all adore her!
Mr. Blake Michael ~ 2.5 years |
Blakester is equal parts adorable and rambunctious. This kid is clearly a mama's boy, which I love. He's my little sidekick while Dylan is in preschool and certainly keeps church... lively? Irritating? Exhausting? Ugh. We had a particularly rough sacrament meeting yesterday so maybe now isn't the best time to think about that. Anyway, he chats nonstop and is very very sweet, except when he's not.
Friday night was our ward's trunk-or-treat party. Spiderman and Little Chickie made an appearance. My heart just completely melts seeing Molly in this costume. It was Kate's costume oh so many years ago. It just struck me that time waits for no one and my little "chicks" won't be little forever. Comforting and terrifying at the same time.
Miss Kate got it in her head this year what kind of costume she wanted: a zombie/witch/princess/vampire. We managed to find this lacy number that she was happy with, and made quite the adorable zombie/witch/princess/vampire. She helped the younger kids decorate pumpkins at the party.
Vampire Blake was extremely proud of his creation.
Mike dug out his headless man costume from a couple of years ago and let me tell you, it was the hit of the night! Children were either afraid of him or wanted their picture taken next to him. It was so fun!
Then, of course, came the candy binge! I have vivid childhood memories of dividing all my Halloween candy into piles and then sub-piles. A very scientific process.
Saturday at Dylan's tee ball game they had bounces houses set up. Yay! For everyone except Blake, who was scared. But once we got him in there, he didn't want to leave.
It was SO hot. It was something like 90 degrees on Saturday. NOT the crisp fall weather I'm wishing for. Texas, I love you, but really. Enough's enough.
We then hit up our friend, Jared's birthday party in Midlothian. Lots of fun!
Next it was on to Kate's soccer game. This girl is rather timid on the field but she is trying and I'm so proud of her for keeping at it!
It was a long and exhausting day. So after Kate's game we all changed into pajamas, ate a simple supper and watched movies the rest of the night.
Sunday we spent a lovely evening over at Kevin and Leslie's for football and yummy food. I love having cousins close. Reagan gave everyone the sweetest goodbye kisses and hugs.
Life never slows down. And I guess that's okay. We are happy and love spending time with those we love. Here's to a great week!
