An August Poem

"August rushes by like desert rainfall,
A flood of frenzied upheaval,
Expected,
But still catching me unprepared.
Like a matchflame
Bursting on the scene,
Heat and haze of crimson sunsets.
Like a dream
Of moon and dark barely recalled,
A moment,
Shadows caught in a blink.
Like a quick kiss;
One wishes for more
But it suddenly turns to leave,
Dragging summer away."
~ Elizabeth Maua Taylor

I love this poem, but I am counting the days until summer is dragged away! We've endured it well here in Las Vegas, but man! The heat drags me down! Anyway, Happy August to everyone; hopefully the last super hot month in our blessed valley. September is pretty brutal too, but then ahhh.... October is just around the corner, bringing with it my favorite time of year-- FALL!

Yes and just think of me being the biggest in pregnancy during the worst of the heat. ahh! Oh well, I'm sure he'll be worth it. Right now I'm just suffocating through it :)
