Our Old Stomping Grounds Tour {Las Vegas}

Whew! Our little tour of our old stomping grounds is over. And we had a wonderful time. Exhausting, for sure, and of course we didn't get to see everyone we wanted to or do everything we wanted either. But there's always next visit!
This was our first time flying with two children. It went amazingly well. We checked in early enough at the airport for a quick breakfast at Chili's.
And we had plenty of time for Dylan and Kate to get their wiggles out before boarding the plane.
Dylan did pretty well on the flight. A little fussy on the last little bit, but not too bad. Kate was awesome--- thanks to the iPod and Toy Story 3.
We arrived in the afternoon and made a quick trip to UNLV. First stop: Kate's preschool. She has missed her friends there, and Ms. Jennifer so much.

And it would appear they've missed her as well. Her friends surrounded her a la celebrity style!
In all his years at UNLV, Mike never got a picture next to Hey Reb. So here it is. Sorry I'm not much of a photographer; hence the shadows.
While on campus, I visited my old co-workers, some friends, and some professors. It was really cool seeing everyone again.

That night we ate a yummy and somewhat chaotic dinner at Cafe Rio with our friends the Childs and the Weights. The children ran wild outside while the adults tried to catch up.... with the kids and with each other.

Kate, Cole and Payce. Cute kids!!!
Mike, Dylan, Layne, and Tayo. We miss these guys! Such wonderful friends.
Barb, please don't kill me for posting this picture. It think it's so cute! And kind of how we all felt after wrangling the kids at dinner, right?
We stayed the night at Barb's house before flying off to Idaho Falls the next morning. It was the worst night ever with Dylan. I felt sooooo bad. He wouldn't stop crying! Luckily, the Childs family is awesome, and took good care of us when we were ready to pull our hair out!
The next day, they dropped us off (probably with a sigh of relief) at the airport, and we were off to I.F.
Kate, at the play area at the airport.
When we flew into Vegas after visiting Idaho Falls, we got to see Ben and Jill who we miss like crazy, and a quiiiick visit with Lindsay. We really miss our friends and our life in Las Vegas. It was a great place to be.
BUT, we are so blessed to be living in Texas with new friends and new adventures. It sure is nice to go back and visit familiar faces and places.
Hope you enjoy the pictures from our trip, in the next couple of posts. :)
